On Wednesdays we…

LOVE PINK!

This Wednesday I’m going to chat about my favorite pink packaged beauty subscription… Ipsy! It’s near the end of the month and May Glam Bags will be on their way shortly. If you’re unfamiliar with Ipsy you can read more about this beauty subscription in my last review here.

April’s theme was Dreamers, and funny enough I didn’t get a picture of the fun pink bubble wrapping. As always, your beauty goods come with a bonus “glam” bag, which this month was a tie-dye motif. Not my favorite, but still useful to have. This is going to look like a very blue Pink post… but it’s the thought that counts right?!

I did receive a lot of “pink-ish” products and one of my absolute favorites in the bag this month was a Tarte LipSurgence in the color Wonder. It is described as a poppy color, but I would say it has a bit more of a rose hue. It isn’t very bright and it looks beautiful on (I swatched it below.) I think it would look flattering on anyone since you can build up the color intensity from a nice wash to a more opaque standout color. I love these LipSurgences because they are moisturizing, long-lasting , they fade evenly, and come in a variety of pretty shades.

Next I received a Trust Fund Beauty highlighter. That Glo Tho… how can you resist a name like that?! It is a beautiful natural shade with rose gold and peachy tones. It does have glitter which I wasn’t very thrilled about, but it is not noticeable on my face. I’m not a huge fan of cream products because my skin is sensitive and tends to break out, and this is no exception. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last very long either. However, when fading it does leave a slight sheen, so it’s not all that bad. It is a nice subtle highlight if you’re looking for something more natural, plus it comes in this adorable lipstick casing!

I wasn’t thrilled about getting the Pretty Woman nail polish in Pouty (just because I have so many polishes!) After seeing it in person and applying it to my nails, my excitement level quickly changed. It is such a fun spring color that I never knew I wanted! It’s the perfect bright purple-ish pink color and I have nothing like it. It does apply a bit streaky, but nothing two coats can’t fix. It dries down kind of matte looking (which is a bit weird in my opinion,) but it dries surprisingly fast which is a must for me!

I was most excited to receive this Luxie Tapered Highlighter Brush. I’ve been ogling over all the pink colored Luxie brushes and was sad for a hot second when I saw I was getting a periwinkle color. Then it hit me that it was similar to the MAC Cinderella collection, and from then on it became my Cinderella brush. It’s a teensy bit more purple (in person) than MAC’s collection, but it’s beautiful! The bristles are soft and dense, but flexible. I’m waiting on some powder highlights to try it with (Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter may be one of my next reviews…)

Last but not least, I received two sample sheet masks from Pur-lisse. One is Blue Lotus and White Tea which is suppose to nourish and renew, while the second is Blue Lotus and Seaweed which is suppose to soothe and balance. I haven’t tried these yet although I am excited to. I have a thing about masks where I want to have enough time to relax and enjoy the masking experience… and lately I just haven’t had that kind of time! I have heard great things about this brand so I’m looking forwards to these.

I have to say April’s bag was also fantastic. That one went right in my Tote!
