Welcome to June! As the months fly by it’s important to remember your long term ambitions as much as your day to day goals. Writing down what you are working towards can not only help you plan, but also keep you focused and motivated. What’s my favorite way to do this you ask?
I have been loving rose gold in everything from jewelry to hair (yes, hair!) Pink tones added to just about anything make me smile. So rose gold eyeshadows hold a special place in my heart. This past holiday I received the beautiful Tarte Greatest Glitz Collector’s set, which you might have guessed, is in a beautiful rose gold and sequined box!
This stunning reusable box opens up to reveal a gigantic mirror and three separate palettes. The bottom drawer opens up all the way (with a little tugging,) to reveal a mini LipSurgence in the color Flashy and their best selling Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara.
It’s the first Wednesday of the month of May, which means time for Tiny Pig calendar! This calendar is so adorable I just want to rip out previous months and save them! To see the past two months, check out the March and April posts.
“Take time every day to stop and appreciate the beauty around you.”
Oh Tiny Pig and your words of wisdom, how right you are. With spring weather and beautiful flowers blooming everywhere, this isn’t hard to do! It’s my favorite time of year and the prettiest in my opinion.
I have a busy couple of months ahead, so I will be utilizing this calendar more so than ever. I even just swapped a few items for a new day planner, which I’m very excited to start using. As I mentioned in my March post, wall calendars are great for an overall view of your month. They really help with long term planning and being able to see the whole month at a quick glance. In conjunction with a day planner, you’ll be an unstoppable, organized force!
Who else is excited for Spring?!
This Wednesday I’m going to chat about my favorite pink packaged beauty subscription… Ipsy! It’s near the end of the month and May Glam Bags will be on their way shortly. If you’re unfamiliar with Ipsy you can read more about this beauty subscription in my last review here.
April’s theme was Dreamers, and funny enough I didn’t get a picture of the fun pink bubble wrapping. As always, your beauty goods come with a bonus “glam” bag, which this month was a tie-dye motif. Not my favorite, but still useful to have. This is going to look like a very blue Pink post… but it’s the thought that counts right?!
This week I want to give a shout out to a product I can’t believe I’ve lived so long without. The Boscia Beauty Oil has been my dry skins saving grace this winter. Ok so I know that this isn’t exactly pink, but the packaging is pink and the bottle is red which is close enough!
It’s that time of the week again for some Pink wonderfulness! If you’re just coming across my Wednesday series WELCOME!! You can find the origin and the rest of the series listed under my Pink Series tab above.
This weeks Pink spotlight goes to a gift I received during the holidays, a fun hot pink candle from Bath and Body works. The scent is called Party Dress and I really couldn’t think of a better name for it. It smells exactly as I would want to if I’m all dolled up ready for a night out! The fragrance is a blend of orchid petals, white peony, and soft jasmine, all which combine to make a beautifully fragrant candle. I want to bottle up this scent and wear it as a perfume!
I never think to buy candles for myself but I love them. And not to mention this one is super cute with a fabulous pink design label on an already fabulously pink candle! I mean come on! It’s the perfect addition to any girly set up.
Anyone else have a favorite candle brand or scent? As always if you would like to participate in the Pink series let me know and I will link your post! Check out this adorable pink spotlight from Statements in Basements! XOXO
It’s Wednesday already? How time flies! Since it’s the first Wednesday of the month I’m going to share my tiny pig calendar with you all for the month of April. If you’re new to my Wednesday series here’s a quick recap… I wanted to draw inspiration from the Mean Girls quote “on Wednesdays we wear pink,” and thought it would be fun to do a post specifically centered around one of my favorite colors, pink! Henceforth this series was born, featuring anything from beauty to fashion to any other pink related randomness. If you’d like to join in feel free to let me know and I’ll link your post in mine 🙂
Time to relax!
Yes I’m taking life lessons from a very small pig. We all should pencil in some relaxation time into our calendars. Whether that time is spent reading a book, playing with your makeup, or catching up on your favorite show, you simply must make time for it! That may sound like I’m promoting laziness but really I’m encouraging mental health time. It is important for your mind to just unwind everyday, especially when so much is being thrown at you. So don’t feel guilty or lazy! Take some time for yourself and just relax!
Hope you enjoyed tiny pig of the month! You can read more about the calendar in my last post and how it supports the Susan G. Komen foundation!
What do you do to relax?
Just as a heads-up…I will be away the rest of the week so I probably won’t post until next week. I have a very informative review of Tarte’s new Double Duty Beauty Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation all planned out for you beauties! Stay tuned XOXO
Welcome to my Mean Girls inspired series! As I mentioned in my first post (oh hai) I want to post on anything pink related, because why not?! This week I want to talk about a beauty subscription that arrives in pretty pink packaging… Ipsy!
Not long ago I debated a subscription to either Birchbox or Ipsy, and Birchbox won. I of course stalked many an instagram account to see samples of past boxes and bags and ultimately I couldn’t decide. It came down to choosing Birchbox over Ipsy because the quality of products seemed better. Although, as I should have known, things aren’t always as they seem.
You can read about my first Birchbox experience here, for now let me take a second talking about Ipsy. I really like the idea of getting mostly makeup samples as opposed to hair care and perfume. If I never got either one of these again in my entire life I would be grateful. So Ipsy probably would have been my first choice if I would have known what I was looking for to start with.
You can say the February Pretty in Pink bag left me feeling like I just missed out on something wonderful. After stalking Ipsy’s website and Instagram (yes again,) I realized I would love any combination of makeup samples in the bag options they sent out. I couldn’t say the same for Birchbox, and after that box’s let down (don’t even get me started on March’s box…) I decided I would cave in and give Ipsy a try. Ya know, for all of you curious beauties out there of course! *winky face*
March Ipsy Glam Bag
Did I mention they call each package a Glam Bag? I mean that’s just amazing in itself! My first Glam Bag arrived in the adorable pink bubble wrap packaging Ipsy is known for. All your goodies are inside an actual makeup bag that they create new each month. This month’s theme was Hello Spring! Which featured three different variations of this pretty floral bag. I got the beautiful blue bag with red roses.
This Wednesday I’m just going to do a quick shout out to some newly discovered NYX products. I almost skipped this week since the weather is too nice out for me to be on my computer 🙂 You can read my first Wednesday post here where I explain my whole pink themed idea!
A few weeks back I decided to try two NYX lip liners, Pinky and Pale Pink.
NYX Lip Liner Pinky & Pale Pink
First off, the plastic wrapping was on so well that I had an embarrassingly hard time removing it. So much so that on the Pinky liner I had to leave half of it on because I literally couldn’t get it off. I wound up accidentally pulling the cap off and breaking the tip of the liner! You can see in the picture I smushed it back on. Packaging: 1 Me: 0
NYX Lip Liner Pinky & Pale Pink
Smiley Swatch is back with Pale Pink as the smile and Pinky as the tongue 😛
As for the liner itself, I am pleasantly surprised considering it was so cheap. I believe it is $3.49 on Ulta’s website. I picked them up during a sale so they were even less, and NYX frequently goes on sale, so yay!
They glide right on and do their job. Pale Pink is a great nude-y pink color, and as exactly as the name states, a pale pink. Pinky is more of a hot pink color that is perfect for some bright spring lippies!
Has anyone else tried NYX lip liners? What are some of your favorite lip liner brands?
Don’t forget to chat with me on Twitter and Instagram XOXO
As you may have read last week (which you can catch here,) I want to start a consistent Wednesday post centered around Pink! Perhaps I should have started with this one since it is a calendar, but oh well. Next month I’ll be sure to make it my first Wednesday post!
Many bloggers talk about having a schedule and the importance of writing stuff down. I completely agree, which is why I want to feature my In The Pink calendar which supports the Susan G. Komen organization. If you haven’t heard of the organization they basically are in the forefront of breast cancer research and funding. They really do amazing things for women and if you’d like to learn more you can visit the website here!
How adorable is a little pig with a little cup of coffee? I love my tiny pig calendar… Thanks mom!
Wall calendars can be just as useful as keeping a notebook or planner around. It’s perfect for jotting down major events to appointments and everything in between. How can you use this to your advantage you say? Well it’s a great way to stay organized long term. At one glance you can see the entire month ahead and plan accordingly. Plus it can’t hurt to look at adorable images throughout the day!
What helps you to stay organized? To my fellow blogging beauts, what’s your favorite day of the week to post?
* If you would like to join me in Loving Pink like Statements in Basements has, just let me know and I’ll link your post here! Check out her fashion! Thanks for sharing the love XOXO *
P.S. Just as a reminder you have a little less than two weeks to enter the Murad giveaway! If you haven’t entered you can check out what you’d win here. The link for it is at the bottom of my review! Good luck! * By the way, these links are just links 🙂 They aren’t sponsored in any way. *
P.P.S. Can you guys guess what Beauty Box review is coming up next by a little something I included in the picture?!
