On Wednesdays we…

LOVE PINK!

I have been loving rose gold in everything from jewelry to hair (yes, hair!) Pink tones added to just about anything make me smile. So rose gold eyeshadows hold a special place in my heart. This past holiday I received the beautiful Tarte Greatest Glitz Collector’s set, which you might have guessed, is in a beautiful rose gold and sequined box!

This stunning reusable box opens up to reveal a gigantic mirror and three separate palettes. The bottom drawer opens up all the way (with a little tugging,) to reveal a mini LipSurgence in the color Flashy and their best selling Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara.

Urban Decay Liner Love

There are so many fun new goodies I have to share with you all. However, I like to test drive products multiple ways before sharing my final verdict on them. In the meantime I thought I’d give a sneak peek (at the end) while reviewing some fun not-so-new goodies.

I’m sure every makeup lover out there will agree that Urban Decay makes great products. The 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner is nothing short of fantastic. I got the shades Bobby Dazzle and Revolver on super sale at Ulta a couple months back and have been loving them since. First off, can we take a moment to appreciate the fine tip?

LOVE PINK!

This Wednesday I’m going to chat about my favorite pink packaged beauty subscription… Ipsy! It’s near the end of the month and May Glam Bags will be on their way shortly. If you’re unfamiliar with Ipsy you can read more about this beauty subscription in my last review here.

April’s theme was Dreamers, and funny enough I didn’t get a picture of the fun pink bubble wrapping. As always, your beauty goods come with a bonus “glam” bag, which this month was a tie-dye motif. Not my favorite, but still useful to have. This is going to look like a very blue Pink post… but it’s the thought that counts right?!

So I thought, why not start my new YouTube channel off right, with none other than the Target Box?! If you’d like to watch the unboxing, I included the video below my review!

I’ve been meaning to post this for weeks now, but I keep discovering more and more about this product. As you may have seen Tarte released a new Double Duty Beauty line with lipsticks, eye shadows, foundations and more. I mentioned in my Sneak Peek post I recently decided to try out the new Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation since it was recommended for dry skin types. Tarte Hybrid Gel Sneak Peek

When a new foundation comes out there’s always a lot of hype that builds it up as the next biggest, life changing formula there is. Magical properties and exquisite transformations are promised by new scientific discoveries on how to make your makeup not look like makeup. Innovative ingredients promise to make your skin look flawless and provide additional beauty benefits as well. But do they really work? Are they worth the hype?

LOVE PINK!

It’s Wednesday already? How time flies! Since it’s the first Wednesday of the month I’m going to share my tiny pig calendar with you all for the month of April. If you’re new to my Wednesday series here’s a quick recap… I wanted to draw inspiration from the Mean Girls quote “on Wednesdays we wear pink,” and thought it would be fun to do a post specifically centered around one of my favorite colors, pink! Henceforth this series was born, featuring anything from beauty to fashion to any other pink related randomness. If you’d like to join in feel free to let me know and I’ll link your post in mine 🙂

Time to relax!

Yes I’m taking life lessons from a very small pig. We all should pencil in some relaxation time into our calendars. Whether that time is spent reading a book, playing with your makeup, or catching up on your favorite show, you simply must make time for it! That may sound like I’m promoting laziness but really I’m encouraging mental health time. It is important for your mind to just unwind everyday, especially when so much is being thrown at you. So don’t feel guilty or lazy! Take some time for yourself and just relax!

Hope you enjoyed tiny pig of the month! You can read more about the calendar in my last post and how it supports the Susan G. Komen foundation!

What do you do to relax?

Thankful Tuesday

spread kindness award

This post will pale in comparison to how I actually feel. I am so thankful to each and every one of you that has read a post (or many,) interacted with me in some way, and has shown support in a multitude of ways! Thank you times a million!

I have recently, and not so recently, have been nominated for a couple of blogging awards. I kind of decided to break the rules a bit and create my own award! I didn’t think you wanted to read another long post about me, so I decided to flip the focus and make it about those who nominated me. In case you wanted to read about me, you can catch it here in my first Liebster Award nomination. If you’d like to hear more about this new *award* I’d like to create, I’ll explain it more below the nominations!

I would like to thank the following lovelies for the nominations!

Zoe (I think that’s your name.. got it from your contact email!) from HomeFamilyWork for nominating me for the Liebster Award! I am super late on this one, I guess from slacking on my notifications the beginning of March! I blame beauty boxes! Anyway she has a fun blog on beauty with some sprinkling of life bits in between. I enjoyed reading her uses for Vaseline which you can read here! Even though everyone says it’s bad for you… I love it anyways!!

Luzz05 (sadly I don’t know your name!) for nominating me for the Liebster Award! What a great blog for makeup reviews and more! She has given me some serious beauty box and makeup palette envy! I especially liked her post on BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic which you can read here. The swatches definitely make me want this palette!

Brittany from Life in Lipstick for nominating me for the Creative Blogger Award! She writes about everything from wine to art to beauty and just about everything in between. I recently found out we have some silly similarities too! One of my favorites posts from her blog is a recipe for Peanut Butter Blondies… which I just can’t wait to try! Check it out here!

Rhiannon from Smilesweetie HQ for nominating me for the Beauty Blog Tag! What a lovely beauty blog she has with some great pictures! I especially like the post called Queen of Clean where she talks about how she organized all her beauty goods. I’m all about organization in my life! Check out her post here!

Samantha from The Pink Apple for nominating me for the Miranda Sings Award! This beauty blog touches upon hair, makeup, and some other great stuff in various other categories. I particularly like her recent post on MAC lipsticks. I love swatches more than anything and she included a whole bunch in her post that you can read here!

So I think that has been all the wonderful beauty tags I have slacked on in the month of March! Thank you so so SO much again to these beautiful humans for including me in their blogging worlds.

Now for some blogs I think deserve some love… there were so many I would like to choose. However, I tried to pick some that are just starting up, I’ve had some great connections with, or just deserve some attention! I only stopped because I didn’t want to wind up listing 100 blogs ha! So please feel free to participate if I haven’t added you to the list below.

The nominations!

I actually will let you choose what you would like to participate in… The Liebster Award, The Creative Blogger Award, The Beauty Blog Tag, or The Miranda Sings Award.

OR

If you would like to stray the path a little…you can help me create a new award! Lets call it the Spread Kindness Award! I’m totally up for suggestions too ha… What we can do with this new internet award is bring some of our favorite newbies some light. You can give a shout out to a few blogs that have caught your interest or maybe some followers you want to thank. Similar to what I did above or with your own twist! Instead of set rules, I’ll give some suggestions based on what I did:

  1. List anywhere from 2 to 10 blogs that you want to thank for their support
  2. Give a little insight as to what their blog is about
  3. Link back to their blog, either a specific post you enjoyed or their home page
  4. Nominate any number of blogs that are either new to the blogging scene or have caught your attention in a separate list
  5. *If you’re on the receiving end of the nominations, give a shout out to the blog who nominated you or include them in your list of blogs to thank when you accept the award*

Hopefully none of that was too confusing! If you’d like to help me in creating this thankful award I would absolutely LOVE it! Feel free to take some creative liberties and make it your own as well. Either way all I ask is that you keep spreading the love and help the beauty community grow! Kindness is always free and you will never regret it XOXO

Thank you again for all your kind words and support!

Target March Beauty Box

If you happened to notice a couple weeks back in my Wednesday  series post, I included a little sneak peak of an item I received in Target’s March box. I am completely hooked on Target Beauty Boxes not only for the great quality of usable products, but also for the great value in those products. The Target Beauty Box comes out *usually* at the end of the month and goes on sale the first day or so of the new month. I say usually because it’s not always the same, plus it’s not a subscription service.

I was almost crying (ok not really… but I could have,) when the end of March was here and there were no previews for a new box. I was like “how can you do this to me Target??!!” Fists in air and all. Then this glorious morning I woke up to see they had updated their products which meant… Beauty Box on the way!! So check out their site (should be a direct link to the beauty box page, if not just type in beauty box in the search field) and see if anything interests you. Also stay tuned… I will announce on my Twitter when they go live! With that said it will probably be very early in the morning and they usually sell out by early afternoon.

Target Beauty Box for March

Although it was smaller than the last Target box, it was by no means shabby. Six out of the eight samples will be, and have been, used. March’s Beauty Box was only $5. Five dollars! You can not beat that. Considering how most beauty subscription boxes are $10 and up. Not to mention they usually include a $3 off coupon for future beauty purchases.

On Wednesday’s we…

LOVE PINK!

Welcome to my Mean Girls inspired series! As I mentioned in my first post (oh hai) I want to post on anything pink related, because why not?! This week I want to talk about a beauty subscription that arrives in pretty pink packaging… Ipsy!

Not long ago I debated a subscription to either Birchbox or Ipsy, and Birchbox won. I of course stalked many an instagram account to see samples of past boxes and bags and ultimately I couldn’t decide. It came down to choosing Birchbox over Ipsy because the quality of products seemed better. Although, as I should have known, things aren’t always as they seem.

IMG_8030 (3) wm

You can read about my first Birchbox experience here, for now let me take a second talking about Ipsy. I really like the idea of getting mostly makeup samples as opposed to hair care and perfume. If I never got either one of these again in my entire life I would be grateful. So Ipsy probably would have been my first choice if I would have known what I was looking for to start with.

You can say the February Pretty in Pink bag left me feeling like I just missed out on something wonderful. After stalking Ipsy’s website and Instagram (yes again,) I realized I would love any combination of makeup samples in the bag options they sent out. I couldn’t say the same for Birchbox, and after that box’s let down (don’t even get me started on March’s box…) I decided I would cave in and give Ipsy a try. Ya know, for all of you curious beauties out there of course! *winky face*

March Ipsy Glam Bag

Did I mention they call each package a Glam Bag? I mean that’s just amazing in itself! My first Glam Bag arrived in the adorable pink bubble wrap packaging Ipsy is known for. All your goodies are inside an actual makeup bag that they create new each month. This month’s theme was Hello Spring! Which featured three different variations of this pretty floral bag. I got the beautiful blue bag with red roses.
