LOVE PINK!

This Wednesday I’m going to chat about my favorite pink packaged beauty subscription… Ipsy! It’s near the end of the month and May Glam Bags will be on their way shortly. If you’re unfamiliar with Ipsy you can read more about this beauty subscription in my last review here.

April’s theme was Dreamers, and funny enough I didn’t get a picture of the fun pink bubble wrapping. As always, your beauty goods come with a bonus “glam” bag, which this month was a tie-dye motif. Not my favorite, but still useful to have. This is going to look like a very blue Pink post… but it’s the thought that counts right?!

Target Beauty Box: April

If you didn’t notice by now, I am completely obsessed with Target Beauty Boxes. They are always affordable and jam packed with a great mix of useable, trendy, and new finds. So I thought, why not start my new YouTube channel off right, with none other than the Target Box?! If you’d like to watch the unboxing, I included the video below my review!

Target March Beauty Box

If you happened to notice a couple weeks back in my Wednesday  series post, I included a little sneak peak of an item I received in Target’s March box. I am completely hooked on Target Beauty Boxes not only for the great quality of usable products, but also for the great value in those products. The Target Beauty Box comes out *usually* at the end of the month and goes on sale the first day or so of the new month. I say usually because it’s not always the same, plus it’s not a subscription service.

I was almost crying (ok not really… but I could have,) when the end of March was here and there were no previews for a new box. I was like “how can you do this to me Target??!!” Fists in air and all. Then this glorious morning I woke up to see they had updated their products which meant… Beauty Box on the way!! So check out their site (should be a direct link to the beauty box page, if not just type in beauty box in the search field) and see if anything interests you. Also stay tuned… I will announce on my Twitter when they go live! With that said it will probably be very early in the morning and they usually sell out by early afternoon.

 

Target Beauty Box for March

 

Although it was smaller than the last Target box, it was by no means shabby. Six out of the eight samples will be, and have been, used. March’s Beauty Box was only $5. Five dollars! You can not beat that. Considering how most beauty subscription boxes are $10 and up. Not to mention they usually include a $3 off coupon for future beauty purchases.

Welcome to my Mean Girls inspired series! As I mentioned in my first post (oh hai) I want to post on anything pink related, because why not?! This week I want to talk about a beauty subscription that arrives in pretty pink packaging… Ipsy!

Not long ago I debated a subscription to either Birchbox or Ipsy, and Birchbox won. I of course stalked many an instagram account to see samples of past boxes and bags and ultimately I couldn’t decide. It came down to choosing Birchbox over Ipsy because the quality of products seemed better. Although, as I should have known, things aren’t always as they seem.

You can read about my first Birchbox experience here, for now let me take a second talking about Ipsy. I really like the idea of getting mostly makeup samples as opposed to hair care and perfume. If I never got either one of these again in my entire life I would be grateful. So Ipsy probably would have been my first choice if I would have known what I was looking for to start with.

You can say the February Pretty in Pink bag left me feeling like I just missed out on something wonderful. After stalking Ipsy’s website and Instagram (yes again,) I realized I would love any combination of makeup samples in the bag options they sent out. I couldn’t say the same for Birchbox, and after that box’s let down (don’t even get me started on March’s box…) I decided I would cave in and give Ipsy a try. Ya know, for all of you curious beauties out there of course! *winky face*

March Ipsy Glam Bag

Did I mention they call each package a Glam Bag? I mean that’s just amazing in itself! My first Glam Bag arrived in the adorable pink bubble wrap packaging Ipsy is known for. All your goodies are inside an actual makeup bag that they create new each month. This month’s theme was Hello Spring! Which featured three different variations of this pretty floral bag. I got the beautiful blue bag with red roses.

Walmart Beauty Box

It’s almost time for Spring! So I thought, why not bring up the Walmart Beauty Box? What does one have to do with the other? Well Walmart has their own beauty box subscription that comes out once every season. Meaning, it’s almost time for the Spring box! If you have $5 to spend every three months (four times a year) and love getting beauty samples to try, then keep reading!

It’s that time of the month again! No not the unwanted kind, but the wonderful time when the Target Beauty Box goes on sale. And it’s always *much wanted* so to speak, that it sells out very quickly. The site is up and ready for purchase (which is only $5!) and I’ve included a handy link that directs you right to Target’s website!

Birchbox Date Night Review

When they say first impressions are everything, it’s true. I wanted to love this box so much, but in reality I can’t.

Let me start by saying, I don’t want to bash a company and make it seem horrible. However I do want to share my experience to help others decide if they want to venture into a Birchbox subscription or not. For any newbies to the subscription box scene, Birchbox is a $10 a month subscription that sends you four to six sample (usually deluxe) sizes of assorted beauty products. They have their own shop which includes makeup, skincare, haircare and more, where you get rewarded for purchases. Plus they also offer lifestyle items such as anything from headphones to picture frames. For more information, a sneak peek at the March box, and all of their add ons you can check it out here!

Birchbox Date Night information card

The date night box caught my interest right off the bat, considering I wanted to try three out of the five samples so badly. I could have left it up to chance but I already knew I’d be happy with this box so I thought why not?

It included samples of:

• Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Strumpet
• Cynthia Rowley Beauty Brightening Illuminator
• Whish Renewing Mud Mask
• Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray
• Catherine Malandrino Romance de Provence fragrance sample

I was very interested in the first three, but not crazy about getting a hair and perfume product. I still thought three out of five would be great instead of leaving it all up to chance!

If you haven’t gotten this Target beauty box yet, oh well too bad! Just kidding… but actually it is too late because they sell out in just a few hours! With that said I had posted right when it became live and ordered it. I will definitely try to keep everyone in the loop on when they are in pre-sale and sale mode. I’m a night owl so expect posts at 4am about it!
